Long ago, players played harmoniously together. But over time, two different camps formed: one made up of PC gamers and the other made up of console gamers. For decades, most companies built teams for one or the other. Then came RESPAWN, an emerging brand that upset the balance with its 110 Gaming Chair aimed at gamers across all platforms.
What sets the RESPAWN 110 gaming chair apart is the combination of PCjconsole-oriented features. While the racing-style frame and 5-star base roll around the office like the best, the chair's thick, padded armrests and extendable footrest are perfect for more laid-back console gaming. But is such an innovative duality really necessary? Or is the RESPAWN 110 an all-rounder and not a master?

How does the RESPAWN gaming chair feel?
The RESPAWN Gaming Chair feels quite comfortable in all positions, although mileage varies by configuration. And by that I don't mean the assembly itself: the installation is a simple process that only takes about 30 minutes. Instead I mean if it's 90° upright on a computer desk or in front of the TV, reclined 155° with the leg rest out. While both offer pretty good support, I think RESPAWN is best suited for the latter. Let me explain why.
Comfort
The RESPAWN 110 places great emphasis on comfort. That is made very clear by the thick padding, the padded armrests and the fold-down legrest that looks more like a reclining La-Z-Boy than a racing style chair. True to its mission, the RESPAWN 110 does everything it can to keep you comfortable all day long. Once you've got the headrest and lumbar cushions in place and found the perfect angle between RESPAWN's infinite locking positions, the chair feels great for a cozy nap.
Unfortunately, you can't really enjoy this convenience on your computer's desktop. You have to sit relatively upright to reach your keyboard, and RESPAWN offers nothing special in this position. Instead, the seat cushion is compressed beneath you as your entire body weight is supported at a single point. The armrests, meanwhile, aren't adjustable, making it difficult to press essential keys or move the mouse to perform trick shots in Fortnite without straining your arms.
Ergonomics
With RESPAWN putting so much emphasis on comfort, ergonomics seem to fall by the wayside. The RESPAWN gaming chair comes with just 3 inches of height adjustment and a recline from 90° to 155°, and that's it. There's no tilt, no height-adjustable armrests, and no built-in head or lumbar adjustments. Everything feels one-dimensional for a PC chair, especially one in the $200 price range.
Thankfully, RESPAWN's leg rest kicks things up a notch and offers a level of flexibility not found in many office chairs. Plus, the smooth-rolling, 360° swivel casters make it easy to move around the office.jliving room floor. Slide it across the room for PC work, then hover it above the TV when it's time to kick back and kick back.
Construction and design
I really like the overall aesthetic of the RESPAWN gaming chair. But yeah, I'm a sucker for executive backs and that smooth leather look. I also appreciate the chair's unobtrusive leg rest, which flips up and slides back, like a turtle retreating into its shell. It makes the entire chair feel uniform and blend seamlessly into any space.
However, if you look a little closer, you'll notice that many of the components are substandard plastic, which is a bit at odds with the sleek design. There's also the problem of RESPAWN's bonded leather, which feels nice as long as you're not leaning against it for extended periods of time. As much as I tried to find ways to make RESPAWN's fabric breathable, the thick cover lacks more breathability than a fish out of water, andwillpowerwarms even on the coldest days.
Sustainability
Durability is where the RESPAWN begins to show cracks in its sleek appearance. First, the bonded leather exterior of the chair, though luscious at first, breaks down over time. This is the result of the bonded leather manufacturing process and there is no way to prevent it. Sooner or later you will find that your chair is a mess of white spots and wrinkles. This won't affect performance, but it can definitely be an eyesore.
The other major issues lie with the constantly sagging seat cushion and wobbly armrests. The good news is that, unlike bonded leather, you can delay or prevent these breakdowns by being more careful with your chair.
Our RESPAWN Gaming Chair Verdict
Before I get into too much detail, let me say that I'm not a huge fan of the RESPAWN 110's PC gaming performance.
Yes, the 5-star wheeled base and upright frame make it work within the confines of a PC gaming room. And it has the overall shape and height adjustable functionality to provide good support on your keyboard. But that's literally it, and there are no additional features to make your time more comfortable or adaptable, not even a tilt mechanism or adjustable armrests.
On the other hand, RESPAWN's Gaming Chair 110 is practically bursting with console-oriented features. The adjustable backrest and padded armrests perfectly support controller-based gaming on the flat screen, while the extendable leg rest offers more comfort than a Snuggie. When extended, the entire chair supports loads of up to 275 pounds like a pro, while the plush head and lumbar cushions provide good supportive ergonomics that conform to your body's curvature.
Either way, RESPAWN's gaming chair looks good too, with a charming look that combines race-style aesthetics with the look of a casual armchair.
That said, RESPAWN was cheap with many lower quality components. Most importantly, the sinking cushion and flimsy armrest mechanisms can leave you stranded like the Titanic. Also, the bonded leather exterior, while more expensive than PU, doesn't do the chair any good, only to tarnish its initial high-end image as it cracks and creases over time.
Overall, the RESPAWN 110 Gaming Chair is a mixed bag. It tries to be too many things for too many people and suffers from a lack of cohesion and overall quality. While I think it's fine for the sub-$200 price point, especially if you're a console gamer, I find myself wanting more.

Should I buy the RESPAWN gaming chair?
When it comes down to it, there aren't many suitable seating options for console gamers. Even fewer options have been designed for the multifunction consolejPC gaming, and the RESPAWN Gaming Chair 110 is undoubtedly the most popular among them.
While I've had my fair share of criticism, I still believe RESPAWN is a solid choice for console gamers and casual PC gamers alike. Even with my doubts, I have a lot of respect for the creative and multifunctional design of the RESPAWN 110, which can be very useful once you learn the quirks.
That said, I don't recommend it for gamers looking for a primarily PC-oriented chair. There are so many great options, even in this price range, that offer greater comfort and ergonomic adjustment options. If you want to go the race-style route on a budget, look to the Homall or GTRACING GT099 for a more reliable choice.
